Her athletic record is extraordinary for an amateur athlete. She has completed 12 editions of the Titan Desert in Morocco, the Costa Rica MTB Route, Ironman triathlons, and a 100 km ultratrail race on foot. She also completed an Everesting challenge on Mount Etna in Sicily, an achievement that reflects not only exceptional physical endurance but also the mental strength required to keep showing up, year after year. In addition to cycling and ultra trail racing, she competes in triathlons and works professionally as an entrepreneur, certified coach, and content creator. She is currently studying Psychology at university while preparing her second book.
It is this coaching dimension that makes Gemma an exceptional expedition host. Her autobiography, El Repte ("The Challenge"), grew directly from her philosophy that discipline, time mastery, and purposeful ambition are learnable skills, not innate gifts. Participants on the Malawi expedition will benefit from her hands-on experience managing adversity in remote, high-pressure environments, and her ability to draw out performance and self-belief in others.
Over seven days in Malawi, participants will learn how to pace themselves physically and mentally, embrace challenge as a vehicle for growth, and connect sport with social purpose, guided by a woman who has lived every lesson she teaches.
