This seven-day expedition to Malawi combines the transformative power of rugby with one of Africa's most breathtaking natural settings, offering passionate rugby followers an experience that goes far beyond the touchline.
The journey begins in Lilongwe, where you will spend four nights at the Bhubesi Pride Foundation's Mtema community centre, a hub of transformation where sport, education, and sustainability converge. BPF Malawi delivers non-contact rugby, netball, and life skills programmes to over 3,000 children across local schools and the community centre, and visiting groups become an active part of that mission. Over four full days, participants will take part in hands-on coaching sessions, training workshops, community outreach activities, and a closing tournament, working side by side with BPF's team of local teachers and coaches across primary and secondary schools in Lilongwe's Area 25/49. It is rugby as a universal language: energetic, inclusive, and genuinely life-changing for all involved.
The expedition then transitions to Blue Zebra Island Lodge on Nankoma Island in the heart of Lake Malawi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Two nights here offer a perfect counterpoint to the intensity of the community week, kayaking around the island's rocky outcrops and coves, while sunset cruises around the Marelli Archipelago provide an unforgettable close to an extraordinary trip.
This itinerary is a harmonious balance of sport and tranquility, challenge and change, offering moments of both introspection and rejuvenation, creating an experience to cherish for a lifetime.
